Thursday 13---My Daughter!

Thirteen Amazing Things About My Daughter (a.k.a. Chipmunk):

1. She is my only daughter and she is a twin. She and her brother were "miracle babies"--I had to be hospitalized for two months before they were born. They wanted to be born at 27 weeks, but medicine kept them from doing so. They were born 1 month preterm, weighing in at 5 pounds 11 ounces (that's my daughter's weight) and 6 pounds 7-1/2 ounces for the boy.
I'm SO thankful that they are both alive and well.

2. She always looks at the positive side of things, always. Even when something upsetting or bad happens, she takes it and makes it into a positive, a lesson learned from it.

3. She has a lot of wisdom for her age. Sometimes I feel like she's MY mother! LOL!

4. She loves helping her Autistic twin brother and she does this with cheer, never is she mean or belittling to him. She has touched many lives for her service to him (people have come up to me and told me what a joy it was to see her help him and what a blessing it must be to me).

5. She has a beautiful singing voice. She started singing with me at an early age and hasn't stopped. She makes me cry when she sings Christina Aguillara songs...because she sings with such passion.

6. She knows how to give shoulder rubs and back rubs as if she went to school for it. She has a healing touch that no one else can match.

7. She does "quiet service" for others---never telling her friends about what she has done so I will share one incident. We were pulling into a Sonic restaurant when we passed an elderly gentleman who looked like he hadn't had a shower in months. He was holding a sign and when she saw it, her eyes started to tear up and she said, "Mom, I can't eat unless that man gets something to eat too. Can we buy him a burger, fries and a drink?" I said, "Yes" and we did so and she took it to him. She has also helped out in soup kitchens--feeding the homeless, giving her allowance money to strangers who looked needy and once helped watch a woman's 3 little children while she had to have an x-ray at the hospital (the woman's husband was serving in Iraq and couldn't be there to help her). She said she just felt "inspired" to go past Radiology and there she was! These kind of things make her an extra, extra special soul!

8. She dances through life...living each day to the fullest and trying to spread the joy to others.

9. She is a wonderful writer and has written poems and songs. She also keeps an online journal.

10. She loves animals and nature. One summer, she spent most of her time in our woods (we have two acres)...reading, learning about different plants and trees and meditating.

11. She can make friends easily wherever she goes. Somehow, people can see her "bright" spirit and want to be near her. Children seem to be drawn to her and love being around her.

12. She can do impersonations that sound exactly like the TV character or actor. She loves doing impersonations of "Mad TV" characters. She can impersonate a character named "Stewart" which leaves me laughing so hard that my sides hurt!

13. She has a quick wit, is very patient, slow to anger. She is kind, gentle and always wants peace. I think she's an angel and I love her. I feel truly blessed that she is my daughter.
