Excuse me...did you forget us?

Every three months, Papoose has to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner so she can 1) see how he's doing and 2) give us refill prescriptions for his medications. We were scheduled to have this appointment last Wednesday, but the NP got sick and had to cancel. Thus, we were rescheduled for today.

We arrived at the office at 9:15 (our appointment was 9:30). At 9:35, Papoose was taken back to have his vitals checked etc. Then the nurse told us that our NP was running 45 mintues behind. Oh, okay. I knew they had her busy as she will soon be leaving the office to start her own practice in a city in the Eastern part of the state. So we waited....and waited.....and waited. We actually got to watch "Mary Poppins" TWICE, aren't you jealous!? I ended up falling asleep for awhile and so did Chipmunk (leaning on my shoulder). Then I sent Chipmunk down to the pharmacy to get some Skittles for Papoose and herself. I did ask the receptionist if we had been forgotten and she told me that our NP was having to see a lot of her patients today. Sigh.

FINALLY at noon, Papoose's NP called us back. She is really a nice person and we're going to miss her. Also, we have NEVER had to wait that long for her before--it's just that since she's leaving, she's having to see her adult patients and her child/adolescent patients too. So anyway---we got out of her office around 12:30, made an appointment to see a new NP in 3 months and left. YEESH! Let's hope we don't have that long of a wait NEXT time!
